Position: Service Tech II - Fire Alarm & Special Hazard |
Description: Do you have a passion for fire safety and a knack for technical tasks?
We're looking for a qualified Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems Technician to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to take a leading role in ensuring the safety of buildings and their occupants by installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing critical fire alarm and special hazard systems.
Responsibilities:
- Independently perform installations, maintenance, inspections, and repairs of fire alarm and special hazard systems.
- Ensure all work adheres to industry standards and regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to accurately install systems.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Conduct inspections and maintain fire extinguishers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in fire alarm, security, low voltage, and/or systems maintenance a plus. (We can train the right candidate!)
- NICET I Certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Alarm Test & Inspect, or Special Hazards (or equivalent certification like ESA CAT L1) preferred. (We can train the right candidate!)
- Strong reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions effectively.
- Ability to work safely in various environments, including construction sites.
Desired Skills:
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems effectively.
- Ability to make recommendations for system improvements.
The Work Environment:
- This position requires working in various locations, including warehouses, offices, and construction sites.
- The work environment may involve exposure to temperature extremes, noise, moving machinery, dust, chemicals, and potential electrical hazards.
- The ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in different positions is essential.
