Description: Production Technician - Fermentation
Vaxxinova US is seeking a Production Technician to join our Fermentation team in Willmar, Minnesota.
Position Overview:
As a Fermentation Technician, you will play a crucial role in the production of high-quality vaccines through fermentation processes. You will work closely with our scientific and quality assurance teams to ensure that all manufacturing protocols are followed and that products meet regulatory standards.
Main responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain fermentation equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare and sterilize culture media, buffers, and other solutions required for fermentation processes.
- Monitor fermentation processes, including temperature, pH, and nutrient levels, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Collect and analyze samples at various stages of fermentation, conducting tests to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Document all processes and results accurately in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during fermentation.
- Collaborate with team members to implement process improvements and efficiencies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety and health regulations.
- Promote safety in all areas of work, professional courtesy, and a positive work environment within the company
Qualifications and Capabilities:
- Ability to work on equipment while standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting required; Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- High school diploma required, Two (2) or four (4) year degree in any technical field preferred
- One (1) to two (2) years' experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience in fermentation technology, particularly in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries, is a plus.
- Knowledge of animal vaccine development processes is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory and manufacturing safety protocols.
