We have an immediate opening for a talented Carpenter. The Carpenter is responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints in order to select the appropriate tools and material for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings.

Hours and Schedule


Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm with an occasional Saturday


Ability to travel within 120 miles radius, occasionally travel will be greater than 120 miles







Reports To: Foreman



Pay: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Competitive, Based on skills and experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Studies blueprints and diagrams to determine appropriate height, width, length, and other proportions

  • Works with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall

  • Selects the appropriate tool, material, and method to complete various carpentry tasks

  • Installs doors, windows, partitions, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required

  • Creates structures for pouring concrete

  • Ensures that installed items meet specific quality specifications

  • Motivates team members to work together to accomplish project completion

  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or coworkers.

Requirements:


Education/Experience



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years' experience as a carpenter



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Knowledge of construction-related equipment and sound demonstrated use.

  • Good team work and collaboration effort.

  • Strong problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills.

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills (methods to include phone, email, & text messaging).



Physical Requirements


Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds on a frequent basis and up to one-hundred pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching is required on a daily basis. A full range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically-powered tools, sprayers, and construction-related equipment. The ability to move throughout the building, including climbing stairs and to work at heights from ladders or scaffolding, in order to perform construction-related work is required.







Environment Exposure






The role involves working with machinery and electricity, as well as impact and power tools. While the job does not expose the worker to fumes or chemicals, it does involve exposure to dust, heat, and cold. The work environment is both indoors and outdoors, and the worker may be required to work at heights. Noise is also a factor in the working conditions.
