Description: Reporting To: Head of Sourcing Location: Sittingbourne or Lutterworth DATE/REF: December 2024 The Sourcing Assistant will support the Sourcing Manager in maintaining a Supply Chain suitable for RTC s business requirements. The role includes administrative support, data analysis, reporting and hands on supplier management. This is an entry level role that will help the incumbent develop a full understanding of Supply Chain management. The Sourcing Assistant will support with auding suppliers, maintaining records, ensuring suppliers understand RTC s quality, service and ethical requirements and ensuring competitive market rates are accessible in all processes and regions. Overall, contributing to improved project margins, quicker speed to market and enhanced client experience. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES • Ensure that all supplier agreements are signed, filed, and maintained. • Monitor supplier corrective action plans and ensure suppliers are making and reporting progress on schedule. • Collect market data and produce reports relating to trends in material, logistics and regional production costs. • Maintain a register of relevant Trade Fairs and events suitable for RTC s attendance (Europe and Asia). • Assist in benchmarking exercises. • Assist in auditing of suppliers. • Work with Estimating & Project Teams to complete risk assessed project timelines. • Ensure supply partners understand RTC s way of working, process, culture & expectations. • Report on supply chain performance, and keep Supplier Dashboard up-to-date. • Sourcing of components & materials. • Ensure that suppliers are aware of RTC s business objectives. • When required, engage in negotiation of contracts and prices. • Gather information and reports to support monthly supplier review meetings. • Any other duties reasonably required. EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE • Educated to degree level. • Knowledge of Supply Chain dynamics. • Ability to analyse data in a systematic way and identify important trends. • Ability and desire to travel. • Knowledge of manufacturing and ability to read technical drawings highly advantageous. • Excellent communication (written and verbal), very strong tact and diplomacy. • The role is suited to a candidate wanting to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be extremely driven with ability to make decisions under pressure. • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines. • Strong commercial awareness. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Computer literate to a high standard.
