Position: Construction Technology Leader |
Description: Job Summary: This position holds responsibility for driving the adoption, implementation, and optimization of technology solutions within the Company. This role bridges the gap between field operations, project management, and IT by aligning technology strategies with business goals to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance project delivery through quality control and client satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and integration of construction software, including project management platforms, BIM tools, reality capture, and field technologies.
- Participate in the development of and lead the execution of the company's technology strategy to support construction operations.
- Assess emerging construction technologies and recommend tools and systems that align with company goals.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure technology initiatives align with the Company's vision and priorities.
- Drive technological differentiators with the business development and preconstruction teams as a part of win strategies for key project pursuits.
- Manage the deployment of hardware and systems such as drones, robotics, AR/VR, and IoT devices for project sites.
- Lead efforts to collect, analyze, and utilize data from construction projects to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
- In concert with company IT leadership, ensure data security and integrity while leveraging cloud-based systems and construction analytic platforms.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors and partners.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure cost effective solutions.
- Support standardization means and methods for use of construction technology throughout the organization.
- Envision technology as an additional revenue stream/business unit for the ESOP.
- Provide training to project management and field leadership on the effective use of all company construction technology platforms.
- Attend, participate, and present at construction technology conferences.
- Provide support to the marketing and project development teams.
Knowledge, Experience & Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, construction administration or similar discipline
- 5-7 years of work experience in construction technology
- Ability to facilitate project collaboration and technical project management activities
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Experience managing people, teams, and processes
- Proficient in the use of Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Drone Deploy, Bluebeam Revu, 2D/3D renderings, basic animation, robotics, drones, and AR/VR applications
- Proficiency in PowerBi or similar dashboarding and data sharing platform is a plus
- Ability to operate basic office equipment including computer, printer, copier, fax, scanner, calculator, telephone, and mobile phone/radio
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, at least eight hours per day, five days per week between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position supervises the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Coordinator.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel to meetings or events within 50-mile radius of office, 1-2 times per month
