Job Summary
- Follow all applicable laws and regulations, including the Helen Ross McNabb Centers Code of Conduct and Policies and Procedures, in order to create and maintain a healthcare and business environment that is committed to integrity and ethical conduct.
- Provide linkage, referral, resources and supportive counseling to flood survivors in Cocke County, Tennessee.
- This is a 9-month position, working an average of 20 hours per week, with a flexible work schedule.
- This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business.
- Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment.
Job Standards
- Identify and meet with flood survivors to provide resources, referrals and general assistance, as needed.
- Complete and forward to Supervisor all required paperwork in a timely manner
- Provide therapy to flood survivors, as well as crisis de-escalation as necessary
- Meet productivity standards set by the program
- Attend community meetings regarding disaster relief
- Collaborate with other agencies in the East Tennessee area
- Maintain a flexible work schedule, which may include evening and weekend hours
- Proactively find individuals/families who have been directly impacted by disaster
- Complete and turn in all mileage reimbursement claims (when appropriate) to Supervisor at least monthly.
- Connect with flood survivors in a positive manner and listen and respond with respect
- Work within a team environment.
- Employ good communication skills (listening, reflecting, role model, etc.).
- Report and share information with Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

COMPENSATION:
- Starting salary for this position is approximately $48,201 /yr based on relevant experience and education.
QUALIFICATIONS - Cocke County Crisis Counselor (Master's)
Education / Knowledge:
- Master's Degree required.
- Good people skills, knowledge of community, ability to travel to various locations and communities required.
Experience:
- Working with others to identify needs and helping individuals to access the needed resources.
Physical:
- Exposure to biological hazards.
- Hearing of normal and soft tones.
- Close eye work.
- Valid driver's license with F endorsement
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Regular attendance is an essential job function.
- Required to be certified in CPR/First Aid and trained in Handle with Care de-escalation techniques. (training provided)
