We are seeking a Lead Automation Field Service Engineer to be responsible for providing on-site technical services, maintenance, and troubleshooting for automation and control systems in oil and gas operations. This role involves leading field operations, supporting customers, and ensuring the reliability and optimization of automation systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and SCADA systems. Lead Automation Field Service Engineer Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership in diagnosing system issues, conducting root cause analysis, and resolving control system malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Configure and program control systems, including modifications to PLC logic, DCS configurations, and SCADA interfaces to accommodate system upgrades or changes.
- Lead the execution of complex automation projects, including retrofits, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring they meet design specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Develop and review engineering documentation, including wiring diagrams, loop sheets, and control narratives.
- Ensure all automation systems comply with industry safety standards, operational guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and customer personnel on the operation and maintenance of automation equipment.
- Create detailed service reports, documenting field activities, issues encountered, and solutions implemented.
- Work closely with the project management, sales, and product teams to provide feedback on customer needs and potential improvements to product offerings.
Lead Automation Field Service Engineer Position Requirements
- 5 years of field service or commissioning experience in a field service/ commissioning environment with automation system in a metals/Mining/Cement/Paper environment
- Possesses a detailed knowledge, competence and expertise with installation and commissioning tasks and services for automation.
- Programming skills in PLC/DCS/SCADA System
- Experienced in communication protocols -Ethernet/Profibus/Modbus/Fieldbus/Ethercat etc.
