We are actively seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist-Programmer to join and grow in the PPG organization. The CNC Lathe Machinist-Programmer will program and operate Okuma lathe equipment utilizing Mastercam software or the OSP programming software built in to the Okuma controller.

Requirements:
- Set up lathe, including all tooling and fixturing required for the task at hand.
- Operate machinery to produce tight tolerance parts (+/-.0004") to print.
- Surface finishes as low as 16 microinches; runouts, perpendicularity, concentricity as low as .0005"; positional tolerances as low as .001"
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Must be able to work independently and in group environments.
- Work with engineering to develop new processes for emerging product lines.
- Troubleshoot machinery as necessary.
- Program parts in a 2-axis lathe environment at a minimum.
- Work with other machinists to overcome challenges on the shop floor
- Responsible for assigning/selecting tooling necessary to complete a given application.
- Inspect parts in process, and record results (forms provided by quality).
- Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- 3-5 years of precision machining and experience.
- Ability to produce tight tolerance parts
- Experience machining exotic metals such as Titanium, Inconel, Aluminum, and Stainless Steel
- Ability and willingness to set up and program new and existing machinery
- Ability and willingness to utilize existing resources or prepare a comprehensive list of necessary resources to complete projects on time and within budget
- 3+ years of experience programming Okuma lathe or similar equipment
- Ability to utilize programming software; Mastercam or like software
- Software specific training available as needed
- Ability to troubleshoot machining / program issues
- Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team and results-driven environment
Compensation
- Compensation for this role is based on experience and demonstrated ability
Compensation details: 32-40 Hourly Wage
