Department: Transportation - Freight Management
Reports To: Director of Freight Management
Position Type: Full Time, Exempt
Salary Range: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00/Yearly
Purpose of PositionExpand and improve the carrier network of Freight Management 2. Setting strategy for carrier sourcing, relationship building, and process management as well as tactical sourcing of capacity for loads while team is built out.
Customers:
- Communicate effectively with customers as required.
- Resolve issues promptly or respond with timelines as to when the issue will be resolved.
- Support Account Management team in matching the proper carrier to customer needs.
Operations:
- Effectively execute load planning within the TMS using effective vetting and negotiation with carriers.
- Effectively balance the need for quality of service and margin optimization.
- Manage multiple tasks at the same time and deliver on deadlines.
- Ensure data integrity and proper requirements are provided to carriers.
- Manage constant process improvement for freight tendering and carrier onboarding.
- Measure carrier performance and take corrective action or process improvements as the situations warrant.
Financial Performance:
- Share in the responsibility to make and keep the Brokerage/profitable.
- Proactively look for opportunities to steer business to Allen's fleet.
- Understand the daily revenue/margin goals and work to constant improve margins and or efficiency (do more with less man-hours)
- Assist on RFP pricing and carrier procurement as needed.
Customer Service:
- Maintain good working relationships with all carriers that support the business.
- Set up a consistent, scalable and high-quality shipment management (tracking) process.
- Support our customer sales team with customized and innovative ways to reduce friction in operations.

Requirements:
- An extensive knowledge of Full Truckload spot and contract markets and rates.
- Existing well-established relationships with carriers.
- Servant leader who will create business relationships where carriers feel valued and appreciated and will want to do business with Allen.
- Well organized with the ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
- Proficient in variety of TMS applications as well as software vendors who support the industry (DAT, Trucker Tools, RMIS etc.)
