Description: Velocity US Properties is seeking a qualified Architectural Drafter professional
At Velocity US Properties we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Construction and Development project team. The Velocity office is based in Bend, OR, and is currently developing communities in both Bend and Depoe Bay, Oregon (). Our goal in community development is to create vibrant and connected communities, integrating respect for nature and ease of access to outdoor adventure. Our Depoe Hills project is a Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) so experience with TND is welcome.
Requirements
- Three plus years of architectural drafting experience utilizing AutoCAD
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population
- Documented experience in residential construction, architecture, or structural engineering. Experience with Traditional Neighborhood Development is a bonus.
- Superior attention to detail and excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Firm understanding of architectural features, terminology, and wood frame construction methods and materials
- A high degree of professionalism and a positive attitude of service toward both the projects and the team members
- Solid knowledge of land use and building codes.
Essential Job Functions
- Involvement in Construction and Development projects at Tetherow Resort and Depoe Hills as well as possible future development projects. This will include organization and further development of the company's plan library
- Partner with ownership, project managers and team members to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and related documents and determine key design factors such as size, shape, and layout for product in development
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed submittal and fabrication drawings that are clear, accurate, and ready for production. Update designs based on feedback and field dimensions to ensure they meet all project requirements
- Assist project managers and engineers with material estimations, pricing, cut lists, and labor costs. Provide on-site support by gathering field information and sketching details for project refinement
- Conduct precise calculations, including angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, and tolerances. Ensure all designs meet client/ownership specifications and regulatory standards
- Order and verify the timely receipt of parts and materials, ensuring all components are available for the project to move forward without delays
- Investigate past projects and new technologies to support engineering solutions and improve the overall efficiency of designs. Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to enhance project outcomes
- Periodic travel to the development sites will be required as needed/requested.
- Follow safety guidelines and best practices. Attend safety meetings and proactively address any unsafe conditions or practices
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration with cross-functional departments. Uphold company policies and standards of behavior, contributing to a positive and productive workplace culture
