Base Pay: $185016.00 - $222456.00 / Year
Description: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) carries the responsibility of providing strategic oversight, coordination and management of the River's Edge Hospital & Clinic (REHC) financial matters. The CFO also serves on the senior management team working closely with the CEO and Executives to assess and support the activities of REHC from a financial and informatics perspective.
Responsible to direct and oversee all financial activities of the hospital & clinic including preparation of current financial reports, summaries and audit reports, along with forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the oversight of the hospital foundation and payor contract negotiation.
Essential Functions:
- Overall financial operations of the acute-care facility including accounting, budgetary, audits, tax, and other financial planning activities within the hospital organization; including management of respective department heads.
- Working with system management to develop and implement policies and procedures, short- and long-range goals, objectives and plans.
- Providing financial leadership to hospital managers that will enroll support, create ownership of goals, and encourage active participate in decisions that impact the hospital.
- Ensuring the hospital meets necessary financial regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Prepares necessary Medicare costs reporting and stays current with Medicare rules, regulations and reporting requirements.
- Contributing financial expertise in the planning of new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue.
- Managing costs by continually seeking data that will identify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs in conjunction with the hospital's CEO and executive team.
- Reviews reports to analyze projections of income and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggest methods of improving the planning process as appropriate.
- Analyzing areas in planning, promoting, and conducting organization-wide performance improvement activities.
- Studies long-range economic trends and projects organizational prospects for future growth in overall sales and market share, opportunities for expansion into new service areas.
- Estimates requirements for capital, buildings, and an increase in the work force.
- Supervises investment of funds in compliance with city statutes.
- Develops departmental objectives, establishes and oversees the work of department.
- Provide oversight of River's Edge Hospital & Clinic Foundation.
- Negotiate Payor Contracts for hospital.
- Responsible for the administrative aspects of leading the department/team to include budgeting, time approvals, staff evaluations and expense approvals.
Requirements: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required. Preferably a Master's in Business Administration or Health Administration.
2. Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
3.Progressive finance experience required. Experience as a CFO in a Critical Access Hospital prefered.
4. Excellent management and supervisory skills.
5. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
6. Proficient in database and accounting computer application system.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Two plus years experience managing a budget greater than $50 million.
9. Familiar with grants and grant writing.
10. Experience managing and adjusting charge-master.
11. Experience presenting to and building relationships with hospital commissioners.
Compensation details: 56 Yearly Salary
