Position: Construction Supply Retail Salesperson |
Description: This is a seasonal role with the opportunity to drive sales and profitability of construction supply and ready-mix sales within our retail stores, while maintaining compliance, effective inventory management, merchandising practices, and exceptional customer service interactions. Responsible for:
- Promote trust and respect among co-workers and customers by demonstrating the company's core values.
- Responsible for logistics and scheduling of outbound deliveries.
- Maintain a clean and well stocked store to ensure customers have a positive experience.
- Collaborate with warehouse team to maximize resources to achieve sales goals.
- Maintain product knowledge and store layout to assist customers in solving their unique needs.
- Ensure all phone calls are answered promptly and helpful support is provided.
- Develop business strategies to raise customer pool, expand store traffic, and optimize profitability.
- Provide store supervision and ensure compliance with all safety and operating policies and procedures.
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
- Ensure monthly cycle counts and negative on hand reports are completed.
What we are looking for:
- Six months to one-year related sales experience. Knowledge of working with concrete and construction supplies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed presentation skills and excellent customer relation skills desired.
- Self-directed and organizational/time management skills.
- Ability to work in high pressure, constantly changing environment.
- Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Products, including Word and Excel, and able to use necessary software for inventory, takeoffs, etc.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Forklift certification necessary, or able to obtain.
- Must be able to speak and read English.
Physical Requirements:
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl 1/3 of the time.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds 1/3 of the time and up to 50 pounds over 2/3 of the time.
