We have an immediate opening for a reliable Trailer Mechanic to work in our Portland, OR shop. This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. The right candidate will have an outgoing personality, likes to function as part of a team, is a self-starter, has a great attitude, notices the details, and values accuracy. This is a full-time position with opportunity to grow. Position Responsibilities: • Experienced with making high-quality service repairs on semi-trailers to minimize comebacks • Maintain a safe work environment • Willing to work in all weather conditions • Accurately diagnose and perform repairs on varies types of trailers including but limited to; brakes, tires, lights, scuff lines, floors, roofs, side panels, bumpers, landing gear, etc • Must have strong knowledge of DOT regulations as well as ability to identify maintenance issues • Trailer mechanics must have excellent customer service skills and maintain communication with leaders • Must be clean, organized, motivated and take pride in their work • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs or more • Maintain company vehicle and equipment • Other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Must have 49 CFR 396.19 and 396.25 certifications • 1 year of trailer mechanic experience • Some reefer experience preferred but not required • High school diploma or equivalent required • Proficiency in the use of hand tools required • Must have your own tools • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable • Skilled with computers and paperwork for RO's • Able to quickly learn new programs and processes • Able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing • Reliable and dependable with a strong attendance history Compensation & Shift: • Full-time, Monday-Friday, swing shift position 2:30pm -11:00pm, 8-hour workday and 30-minute lunch • Starting wage of $28-32 per hour depending on experience and qualifications • Benefits o Medical insurance o Dental insurance o Vision insurance o Life insurance o 401(k) with employer match o PTO If you'd like to join our team, please reply to this ad with your current resume detailing applicable experience.
