Bell Choir and Choral Director(s)

The Director(s) of Music Ministry at Christ Church is/are a part time professional staff position, please read policy book for policy on part time employees.
The individual(s) filling this position has/have a primary responsibility for developing and coordinating the total music ministry. His/her goal will be to integrate music, not only into the service of worship, but into the total life of the congregation.
This/these person(s) will have at his/her disposal the church music instruments for private teaching whenever they are not scheduled for service use.
Shall report directly to and be responsible to the Senior Pastor and the Staff Parish Relations Committee.
Attend Church Council meetings. Serve as staff representative to the Worship Commission and work with other committees and commissions in developing a coordinated program of worship, Christian education and fellowship through music.
Exhibit personal discipline with regular office hours and manage time wisely.
Serve as the music resource person(s) for the Pastor, Christian Education staff, and congregation.
Provide choir schedules and bulletin information by Wednesday to the church secretary and organist and notify others of any schedule changes.
Develop yearly schedule for all choirs; including rehearsal dates and times as well as dates for participating in worship services.
Oversee and maintain the music library.
Choir and Choral Directors' Responsibilities:
Provide appropriate choral music for services of worship.
Conduct, coordinate, prepare and rehearse choirs. Select instrumentalists, soloists, always seeking to sustain the highest standards of performance that have been associated with good church music.
Plan, rehearse and direct special events that may combine music, drama, dance and other art forms relevant to worship and religious expression.
Professional and Career:
Keep abreast of developments in the field of music as they pertain to this position.
Participate in continuing education events as relevant to ministry needs.
