Pay Rate: $310 per hour

Shift Details: 5 x 8-hour shifts per month
Work Details:
Support Staff: RN and specialty backup (hospitalist, cardiology, neurology, general surgery, neuro, ENT, trauma surgery, peds, radiology, anesthesiology, etc.)
Coverage Needed: 6-7 shifts per month through August 2025: 11p-11a but can vary as needed.
Patients Per Day: 1-2 patients per hour in a double-covered Emergency Department (ED) with an annual volume of 30,000 patients
Patient Population/Age: All ages
Department Description: Emergency Medicine, Level II Trauma Center
EMR: Cerner
Hospital Bed Size: 318 beds
Special Procedures: ER physicians do not run codes outside the ER or admit patients; they provide basic holding orders for patient transfer. Admitting physicians take responsibility once patients leave the ER.
Practice Setting: Community hospital with Level II trauma capabilities. Emergency department sees 1.7 to 2.0 patients per hour with a 25% admission rate.
Specialties on Staff: Hospitalists, cardiology, neurology, general surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, hand surgery, plastic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, orthopedic surgery, trauma surgery, psychiatry, podiatry, pediatrics, OB/GYN, radiology, anesthesiology (in-house or on-call within 15 minutes).
Trauma Handling: Major trauma cases are diverted by air or ambulance to higher-level centers.
Skills Required:
- Standard ER skills for Level II trauma and community hospital settings.
- Experience in managing complex trauma, critical, and unstable patients in an ED setting.
Requirements:
Board Certification:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or Family Medicine (ABFM) within 5 years of training.
DEA Certification: Yes.
CSR Certification: Not required.
Certifications Required: ACLS, ATLS, PALS.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience preferred.
