Position: Credit Analyst


Description: As the Credit Analyst, you review the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses to determine the risk involved in lending money or extending credit. You also assist in providing business services to commercial members of the credit union by performing the following duties.


After one year, you'll know you are successful if:

  • You can underwrite loans, review financial spreads, and complete credit analysis independently.

  • You can complete comprehensive loan presentations to the Business Service department.

  • You are independently preparing and maintaining loan files and tickler reports.

  • You perform work responsibilities consistent with the Business Loan Policy, Lending Procedures, and compliance requirements of the Credit Union.

Essential Duties of the Credit Analyst Include:

  • Analyzes credit data and financial statements of individuals or businesses to identify the degree of risk involved in lending money or extending credit.

  • Responsible for the review and independent, objective underwriting of business loans, which includes collecting appropriate documentation and creating thorough and concise analyses of the risks and mitigation factors of current and prospective commercial loan relationships.

  • Compiles information, completes loan applications, analyzes, and documents strengths and risks identified in underwriting for review by final approval authority.

  • Determines the expected profitability of loans by analyzing a business's financial data, including quality of management, income growth, and market shares.

  • Perform annual loan reviews of our existing portfolio to determine continued repayment capacity and potential risks.

  • Identifies delinquent accounts through the review of individual or commercial customer files.

  • Assure credit quality is maintained throughout the business loan portfolio; this includes maintaining rate adjustments, monitoring business lines of credit, and running and working reports.

  • Processes commercial loan files, including preparing loan documents, ordering title insurance, appraisals, credit reports, lien reports, flood paperwork, filing lien perfection documents, and preparing loan files for closing. Prepares and maintains Member Business Loan files and tickler reports. Prepares loan application and closing documents.

  • Performs daily administrative functions of the Business Services Department.

Our Credit Analyst role works full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. This role is located in Sioux Falls, SD, and is an on-site role.



Requirements




Credit Analyst Education and Experience: To thrive in this role, you should have at least 3-5 years of similar or related experience or a bachelor's degree in a related field and feel comfortable working analyzing financial information.

Salary Description

$21.00 to $31.00 per hour, depends on experience
