Job Summary: Trinity Baptist Church, a growing SBC congregation located in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a part-time, bi-vocational Youth and Education Pastor. Our church has a student body of approximately 65-75 school-age students. We are looking for a dedicated man to serve on our pastoral staff and who will provide leadership for our student ministry, focusing on discipleship, evangelism, volunteer management, and budget oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction for the student ministry (grades PreK-12). This is both daily/weekly leadership but also strategic vision for the ministry.
- Manage and support the volunteers for both the Children's Team (PreK-5) and Youth Group leaders (grades 6-12).
- Develop and implement programs that promote discipleship and evangelism among students.
- Plan and coordinate events, activities, and schedules for the student ministry.
- Manage the student ministry budget, ensuring resources are used effectively.
- Oversee Vacation Bible School each summer and an annual Youth Retreat.
- Support the teaching and preaching ministry of the church by occasionally preaching sermons or leading various services (weddings, funerals, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor and other staff members.
Qualifications:
- Be a professed believer and a member in good standing with their current church.
- Affirm agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and Trinity Baptist Church's Statement of Faith.
- Have a heart for youth ministry and the ability to engage and disciple students.
- Possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
- While no specific educational requirements are set, progress toward or completion of a seminary degree is a plus. Background checks and references will be mandatory.
