For over 20 years, our team has focused on "Delivering a Premium" in everything we do. We design and build the most advanced luxury coaches, setting new standards in the industry for innovation and comfort. Our approach extends beyond the coach; we carefully select each driver to match our clients' personalities and specific needs, ensuring a travel experience that is as seamless as it is luxurious. This commitment to excellence is not just for our clients but also reflects how we treat our team, providing significant career opportunities and competitive benefits. As we continue to grow and lead the industry, we remain dedicated to enhancing every aspect of our service, from our exceptional coaches to the personalized care we provide. Your Role As the Principal Mechanical Reliability Engineer for Encore, you'll report directly to our CEO and work with him to build a world-class preventive maintenance program from the ground up. This isn't just an office role-you'll be interpreting complex data, working with 3D models, and stepping onto the shop floor to understand our fleet's real-world challenges. Your mission is to transform raw engineering details into a clear, effective maintenance strategy that boosts reliability and reduces downtime. Over time, you'll have the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated team, continuously refining and improving our preventive maintenance approach for the future.
Responsibilities -
Architect the Preventive Maintenance Program: Turn engineering drawings, 3D models, and manufacturer guidelines into a clear, organized database of parts and assemblies with easy-to-follow maintenance schedules. -
Research & Validate: Spend the majority of your initial time (at first, about 90%) reviewing manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and historical data to guide your maintenance plans. -
Use CAD & Data Tools: Use SolidWorks (including PDM) and other software to map assemblies, build Bills of Materials (BOMs), and maintain accurate documentation based on your research findings. -
Establish the Maintenance Framework: Convert engineering drawings, 3D models, and validated data into a structured maintenance program with clear schedules, parts lists, and organized service intervals. -
Set Service Intervals & Tasks: Determine when and how often each component requires maintenance, reducing downtime and roadside issues. -
Collaborate Onsite: Communicate with mechanics, parts managers, and other team members to ensure your maintenance strategies fit the real-world conditions on the shop floor. -
Continuous Improvement: Regularly review actual performance, refine intervals, select improved parts, and adjust strategies to enhance reliability over time -
Project Management: Work closely with the CEO and project leads to set goals, track progress, adapt as needed, and measure success as the program matures.
Minimum Requirements
U.S. Citizenship & Location: Must be a U.S. citizen and either currently local to or willing to relocate to the Nashville, TN area. -
Mechanical Engineering Experience (6+ Years): Demonstrated history of working on complex mechanical systems, including developing maintenance strategies and translating technical data into practical plans. -
CAD & PDM Proficiency: Proven ability to use SolidWorks (including PDM) to create, manage, and update BOMs, assemblies, and documentation. -
Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience reviewing manufacturer manuals, industry standards, and historical performance data to develop or refine preventive maintenance schedules. -
Project Delivery Record: Past experience setting targets, meeting deadlines, and adapting plans as needed. -
Clear Technical Communication: Proven ability to explain maintenance strategies and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Nice to Have -
Willingness to be hands-on and step onto the shop floor, learn from the team, and make real-time adjustments. -
Background in aviation, heavy industrial equipment, or similar fields where preventive maintenance is critical. -
Knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar platforms to keep tasks organized and on schedule. -
Experience embedding maintenance data into Fleet Management Systems, ERP solutions, or other operational platforms. -
A history of guiding small teams or improving processes as part of a growing organization.
