Job Description

Responsibilities




The Facility VP of Operations for Norton Women's & Children's Hospital & Norton Children's Medical Center is responsible for monitoring changes in healthcare reimbursement as well as regulatory requirements impacting operations. The incumbent analyzes staffing models, patient care models, and workflows for improved patient access, efficiencies and optimal patient experience driving group performance to benchmark standards. The Facility VP of Operations ensures operational effectiveness, standardization, and optimization by working with leaders across the multi specialty disciplines as well as with external partners, vendors and contractors.



Key Accountabilities:



  • Coordinates completion of both the operating budget and longterm capital expenditure plan at the facility level and monitors on an ongoing basis. Identifies revenue enhancement & cost containment opportunities based on financial analysis and observation. Ensures major construction & renovation projects are managed to budget and schedule or better. Operationalize programs to facilitate growth in volume & visits at the facility level.

  • Operational Oversight of assigned departments. Manages productivity & staffing levels to best practice benchmarks for assigned departments. Develops performance improvement measures and continually assesses performance against measures. Manages at or below budget for flex adjusted revenue & volumes for assigned departments.

  • Effectively monitors service processes that are patient and family focused, ensures patient satisfaction scores are meeting facility and assigned departments' goals. Ensures the strategic, operational, and programmatic plans support the mission, vision, values and service orientation of Norton Healthcare.

  • Ensures evidenced based key processes are followed to ensure best possible patient outcomes. Actively monitors for compliance with state, federal and Joint Commission requirements. Plans well and prepares in advance for projects and multiple possible outcomes.

  • Conveys a clear vision of the facility's direction, challenges and opportunities for staff. Establishes meaningful and measurable performance expectations for staff. Manages complex hospital based physician relationships and contracts.


About Norton Women's & Children's Hospital


Norton Women's & Children's Hospital is a full-service, 373-bed community hospital offering inpatient and outpatient medical/surgical care, full diagnostic services and 24-hour emergency care for men, women and children. The hospital specializes in comprehensive cancer prevention, detection and treatment; orthopedics and bone health; pelvic health services; migraine treatment; breast health diagnostics; and surgical weight loss services. For children, the hospital offers pediatric surgery, inpatient care including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, sleep center, rehabilitation center and pediatric emergency services, plus specialized care for pediatric neurology, urology and gynecology patients. Through Norton Women's Care, the hospital offers general and high-risk obstetric and gynecologic care, as well as a surgical unit with private rooms and specialized nursing care just for women. Norton Women's & Children's has achieved Orthopedic & Spine Center of Excellence designation from DNV for knee and hip replacement, and shoulder and spine surgery. It also is designated by DNV as an Acute Stroke Ready Center, offering comprehensive stroke intervention. Norton Women's & Children's Hospital also is designated by the Surgical Review Committee as a Center of Excellence in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, robotic surgery, surgical services and kidney stone management. About Norton Children's Medical Center


Norton Children's Medical Center in northeastern Jefferson County is the only pediatric outpatient center of its type in Kentucky, with a 24-hour pediatric emergency department; a full complement of pediatric diagnostic imaging services, including MRI, CT, X-ray, fluoroscopy and ultrasound; a full-service laboratory; and a wide range of pediatric outpatient surgery services, including ear, nose and throat; orthopedics; eye; urinary; dental; and general surgeries. Qualifications




Required:



  • Three years of leadership experience in operations or finance in a healthcare setting

  • Bachelor Degree
