Position: Director of Development |
Description: Work closely with and assist the Board of Directors, its designees, Incorporators of the organization and the MFS Senior Leadership Team, to develop a comprehensive fund development plan and strategy; work with board committees as assigned by the CEO; identify, establish and maintain relationships with key donors, potential donors, corporate and philanthropic leaders; establish and manage annual fundraising activities, including direct mail campaigns and special events; formulate and implement planned giving programs and major gifts campaigns; identify, solicit and cultivate donor prospect and longstanding relationships. Write grant proposals and supervise all aspects of solicitations to external stakeholders. Assist CEO in carrying out elements of the MFS strategic plan as they apply to communications and public relations activities.
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of two years successful relevant development experience.
- Preferred experience in non-profit and/or healthcare settings.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to relate effectively with donors, volunteers, board of directors, a wide variety of community members, funders and potential funders and the organization's staff.
- Ability to work well in a team and have strong skills with self-directed work.
- Excellent writing and public presentation skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Proficient in use of computers, knowledge of database, Word, Powerpoint, Desktop Publishing, development software (such as Razor's Edge), internet development tools and social media.
