Utility and Maintenance Supervisor I - Wastewater Collection Division | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Description: The Supervisor is responsible for supervising Wastewater Collection and Storm Drain operations.
The ideal candidate will have Knowledge of: supervisory principles; operational services and characteristics of assigned area of responsibility; principles, theories, and standard operating procedures in assigned area of responsibility; applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, rules, regulations, and codes; risk management principles; report writing techniques; budgeting principles and practices; public relations principles and techniques; contract development and administration techniques; purchasing principles; project management techniques; occupational hazards, standards, and safety practices. The ideal candidate will have skill in: monitoring and evaluating employees; prioritizing and assigning work; using computers and related software applications; developing and administering budgets; analyzing problems, identifying solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations and goals; monitoring contracts; managing projects; coordinating the development and management of programs related to assigned area of responsibility; composing reports and written documents; providing customer service; training employees on work methods; assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures; coordinating activities with other divisions and/or contractors; communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. High School Diploma, or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.), plus specialized education and three years experience at the Utility and Maintenance Field Supervisor level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
