As the Manufacturing Engineering Co-op, you will be responsible for the functions outlined below:




Essential Functions:



  • Plans, designs, and coordinates gage system for new product. Works to eliminate plate and CMM checks with hard gaging. Develops, implements, and validates new gage system based on equipment specifications, performance requirements.

  • Design of fixtures for handling/assembly/inspection of parts in newly updated manufacturing cells, armory and assembly. Develops, implements, and validates new fixtures based on equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposal for integrating new machinery and equipment.

  • Confers with establishment personnel to create and implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions.

  • Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by the Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, or the V.P. of Manufacturing Engineering.






Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Major, minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 Scale

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.

  • Has knowledge of GD&T; has experience with Solidworks, Mastercam, or similar software.

  • Willingness to work with a team and be a team player.

  • Self-motivated; willing to put in extra effort and hours as needed.

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work under the pressure of deadlines.

  • Ability to work, interact, and effectively communicate with all company officials, employees, vendors, etc.




Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the workday.

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.

  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
