Description: OB/GYN Physician Job in California In House Call ASAP Start for Ongoing Dates Schedule needed for Assignment : Start as soon as credentialed for 6 call shifts/month and 5-8 clinic shifts/month Job Details/Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible California license required Residency Requirements/Fellowship ACGME Accredited Residency required Other Certifications DEA, BLS, ACLS Malpractice clean required Availability at time of name clear required Setting: Mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital call. Outpatient: 15-20 patients/day Inpatient: Deliveries (45-55/month), with 25-30% C-section rate (CNMs assist). Required Procedures: Vaginal deliveries, C-sections (assist required), Sterilizations, birth control, laparoscopic tubals (at Santa Cruz Surgery Center). No abortions or postpartum tubal ligations (except during C-sections). EMR: Cerner Support Staff: Clinic: Full-time ultrasonographer with 30+ years of experience, 1 RN managing diabetic patients and NSTs. Hospital: Ultrasonographer and 24/7 anesthesia coverage (10 MDs). Average Deliveries/Day: Approximately 1.5/day (45-55/month). C-section Team: Provider must assist. NICU Level: III (partnership with Lucile Packard Children s Hospital Stanford). Specialist Collaboration: Strong partnerships with Stanford and community perinatologists/neonatologists. Patient Demographics: Mostly low-risk, underserved populations. Bilingual providers preferred. Is the locums required to monitor patient if on Pitocin? Yes Does the physician need to be onsite if a patient is given Pitocin (or another medication to increase contractions)? Yes, OB hospitalists are required to be in hospital during entire call shift.
