THE ROLE

As the Site Manager you provide overall leadership for the site support team at the yard in Colombia. You are responsible for the manufacturing of one-off naval vessels at international or multi-site manufacturing yard environments within quality standards, budget, and timelines. You manage a high-quality site team, a shipyard and supporting activities for the project organization in Colombia. Good command of the Spanish language, and availability for travelling to Colombia is required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  Oversee the execution of manufacturing activities for new naval ships, ensuring quality, scope, budget, and timelines are met.

  Develop and implement manufacturing plans, monitoring progress against operational targets.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage resources (people, equipment, information, accommodation) for ongoing projects.

  
  


• 
  

  Advise and support internal and external stakeholders on operational planning solutions.

  
  


• 
  

  Develop and implement local policies and procedures to meet production objectives.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure team members understand and meet operating objectives and performance standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage human resource planning to ensure teams have the required capabilities.

  
  


• 
  

  Transform and maintain site teams for timely, cost-efficient delivery with high-quality standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Represent the company to customers and professional associations.

  
  

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• 
  

  Bachelor or Master's degree in Maritime Engineering, Naval Architecture or another technical study, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

  
  


• 
  

  Knowledge of production methods and techniques, preferably in the shipbuilding industry.

  
  


• 
  

  Knowledge of planning techniques and Engineering principles.

  
  


• 
  

  Good command of the Spanish language.

  
  


• 
  

  Availability to work in Vlissingen (Netherlands) and frequently travel to the yard in Colombia.

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.

  
  


• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
