Position: Dental Assistant |
Description: The Dental Hygienist performs professional dental care the field of dental hygiene including all related clinical procedures. This is a Part-time position.
- Prepares treatment materials/trays according to the needs of individual participants.
- Screens and evaluates patients regarding cavity detection, periodontal pathology and medical history.
- Performs exposing, processing and mounting of radiographs.
- Administers local anesthetics and gross debridement in treatment of acute periodontal conditions.
- Performs supra and sub gingival scaling and curettage, root planning and oral prophylaxis.
- Administers topical fluorides.
- Provides instruction for proper home care prevention techniques for oral hygiene including proper tooth brushing, flossing and nutrition.
- Documents procedures performed.
- Assists in the training of dental assistants.
- Cleans treatment room(s) after each participant visit by discarding all disposable items, gathering soiled instruments, and placing them in the sterilization area.
- Checks treatment rooms for cleanliness and corrects as necessary
REQUIRED
- Current state issued Dental Hygienist license
- 1+ yr as Dental Hygienist
- High School Diploma or GED
