Position: Associate Minister |
Description: The Associate Minister will serve as a key staff member, contributing to the overall ministry of the church with a primary focus on youth ministry (40%). In addition, the Associate Minister will oversee and support other ministry areas, which will include three of the five following ministry areas: Digital Ministry, Pastoral Care, Discipleship, Administration, and Worship Coordination. This individual will work closely with the Senior Pastor and the ministry team to create a welcoming, impactful, and spiritually nourishing environment for the congregation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Youth Ministry (40%)
- Develop, lead, and implement programs and events for middle and high school students.
- Provide pastoral care, mentorship, and discipleship to youth, helping them to grow in their faith and build a strong foundation for spiritual life.
- Collaborate with parents and volunteers to build a thriving youth ministry that aligns with the mission and vision of the church.
- Plan and coordinate weekly youth group meetings, camps, retreats, mission trips, and other events.
- Cultivate relationships with youth and support them in their spiritual, emotional, and relational development.
Digital Ministry (20% if selected)
- Oversee the church's digital presence, including website, social media platforms, and online worship services.
- Participate in The Couch service regularly
- Develop creative ways to engage church members and the broader community through digital outreach and engagement.
- Coordinate live-streaming, video production, and other multimedia initiatives as needed.
- Become familiar with church hardware and software as it pertains to Digital Ministry
Pastoral Care (20% if selected)
- Provide pastoral support and care to members of the congregation, including hospital visits, counseling, prayer, and comfort during times of crisis or difficulty.
- Support church members in their spiritual journey, offering guidance, prayer, and encouragement.
- Collaborate with other staff and lay leaders to develop programs that address the pastoral needs of the congregation.
Discipleship (20% if selected)
- Develop and oversee discipleship programs for adults and youth, fostering spiritual growth and community engagement.
- Provide resources, teaching, and leadership for small group ministries, Bible studies, and other adult discipleship initiatives.
- Encourage and equip church members in living out their faith through service, outreach, and personal spiritual practices.
Administration (20% if selected)
- Assist in the planning and execution of church-wide events, programs, and activities.
- Help maintain effective communication between church leadership, staff, members of the congregation
- Support the Senior Pastor in managing the church's schedules, resources, and general administration.
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and systems to ensure smooth operation of ministry programs.
- Work with QuickBooks and other software to maintain the church's financial and administrative elements
Worship Coordination (20% if selected)
- Collaborate with the worship team to plan and coordinate worship services, including music, liturgy, and special events.
- Assist in developing the spiritual and thematic content of worship services to create meaningful experiences for the congregation.
- Help train and support worship leaders, musicians, and volunteers in their roles.
Qualifications:
- A deep and personal faith in Jesus Christ, with a passion for ministry and serving others.
- A degree in Theology, Ministry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 2 years of experience in ministry leadership, preferably in youth ministry or other areas of church life.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of staff, volunteers, and church members.
- A heart for pastoral care, discipleship, and growing people in their faith.
- Proficiency with digital platforms, media production, and technology is a plus.
- Ability to lead with humility, integrity, and a commitment to the mission of the church.
