POSITION PURPOSE
:
This position is responsible for general maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment throughout the plant.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
:
Responsibilities include repair and maintenance of all equipment onsite. Communicate with supervision to assure all equipment is performing as well and as reliable as possible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES OF THE POSITION
- Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment
- Troubleshoots failing equipment
- Dismantles equipment and removes/replaces defective parts
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year industrial maintenance experience required
- Working knowledge of tools and their uses
- Cutting, welding, pipe fitting and fabrication is a plus
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Working knowledge of equipment troubleshooting and repair
- Must be a self-starter and quick learner
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Heavy lifting, walking, climbing, bending, working outside in hot or cold weather
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Mostly outside work
