Associate Pastor

Believers Christian Church (BCC) is seeking a dynamic, highly relational, and missionally minded individual to join our pastoral team as an Assistant Pastor. This Gospel-centered leader will play a pivotal role in nurturing authentic relationships within our congregation and community, embodying our commitment to "Love God, love people, and serve both." Position Overview: Believers Christian Church (BCC) is seeking a dedicated and spiritually mature individual to join our pastoral team as an Assistant Pastor. This role involves assisting the Lead Pastor in various ministerial duties, fostering the spiritual growth of our congregation, and promoting active participation in church ministries. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, pastoral care, and leadership, and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Sermon Preparation and Delivery:
  
  Prepare and deliver sermons as needed to support or relieve the Lead Pastor.
  Be available to preach on short notice in unforeseen circumstances involving the Lead Pastor.


• 
  Officiating Ceremonies:
  
  Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and dedications to support the Lead Pastor.


• 
  Counseling Services:
  
  Assist in pre-marriage counseling sessions as required by the Lead Pastor.


• 
  Youth Leadership Development:
  
  Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to develop and mentor a High School Youth Leader.


• 
  Staff and Leadership Meetings:
  
  
  
  • Attend weekly "weekend experience" debriefs (executive meetings).
  
  
  • Participate in weekly all-staff meetings.
  
  
  • Contribute to bi-monthly department leader meetings.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Community Assimilation and Ministry Engagement:
  
  
  
  • Foster assimilation of the church community into the greater body of Christ.
  
  
  • Assess spiritual gifts and talents to integrate individuals into ministry roles, aiming to serve BCC during weekends and special events.
  
  
  • Encourage congregational involvement in various departments (e.g., men's, women's, youth, children's ministries) to fulfill the church's mission.

  General Pastoral Duties:
  
  
  
  • Provide pastoral care and counseling to congregation members as needed.

Qualifications:

Spiritual Maturity: Demonstrates a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to spiritual growth.

Educational Background: Possesses a relevant theological or ministry-related degree.

Experience: Previous pastoral experience, particularly in preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop leaders within the church community.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with proficiency in preaching and teaching.

Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating humility and a servant's heart.

Administrative Skills: Strong organizational and administrative capabilities.
