Description: Pediatric Hospitalist Locums Job in Massachusetts June 1 August 30
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate locum Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team in Massachusetts for the summer months (June 1 August 30). This is a great opportunity for a pediatrician looking to provide high-quality care in a supportive and collaborative environment. The schedule consists of 12-hour shifts or 24-hour shifts, and you'll be working in-house the entire time.
Details/Requirements:
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week + Option for 24-hour shifts if preferred Dates: June 1 August 30 Shift Requirements: All shifts are in-house Average daily census: 1 patient, rarely exceeding 3 Providers are expected to attend high-risk deliveries and newborn care NICU: Level II NICU with comprehensive support from a Level III NICU (on-site 24/7 consultation) Deliveries: Average 1500 deliveries annually Attendance at high-risk deliveries only Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization required for newborns and SCN babies Attendance at high-risk newborn deliveries (approx. 1500 annual deliveries) Admission, rounding, and discharge of newborns to Normal Nursery, Special Care Nursery (SCN), and inpatient Pediatric units Daily rounding on Normal Nursery, SCN, and inpatient Peds Provide consultation to the ED as needed (consult and note, not primary management) Competency in neonatal resuscitation (NRP), intubation, lumbar puncture, and umbilical vein catheterization Collaborate with a second team member (MD or NP) for additional support in admissions, rounding, and discharges from the Newborn Nursery Certifications Required: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) + NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Ability to handle neonatal resuscitation, intubation, lumbar puncture, and pediatric resuscitation Experience with Level II NICU and high-risk deliveries Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams Comfort with handling a range of pediatric cases, including newborns in the normal nursery and special care nursery
