Description:
Key Responsibilities: Provide 24-hour call coverage with an average of 5-7 shifts per month. Handle all aspects of pediatric hospitalist cases and procedures. Serve as the pediatrician of record during a patient's stay. Perform standard pediatric procedures, including lumbar punctures, frenotomies, bladder catheterization, and more. Airway management, including endotracheal intubation when necessary. Coordinate patient care with primary care physicians and necessary subspecialists. Supervise and coordinate transfers to the pediatric ICU when needed, and assist with transfers from the pediatric ICU to the acute care floor. Teach and supervise residents during Patient Centered Rounds. Participate in hospital-level administrative duties, department meetings, and policy development. Contribute to medical staff committees to continually review medical care and promote patient safety. Follow evidence-based practices and national guidelines to ensure the highest quality care. Qualifications: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics. Availability for ongoing coverage, with flexibility for 24-hour shifts. Competency in pediatric procedures and airway management. Willingness to teach and guide the next generation of family medicine physicians. Active participation in departmental and medical staff committees is required. Additional Details: No delivery attendance required; Level III NICU delivery support available at both hospitals. Dual coverage will be available based on acuity and census.
