Job Overview:


Endoscopy nurse in endo unit. Primarily colonoscopies and basic endo procedures.


Shifts are 8 hours with some flexibility for cases running late.


Start times vary from 6:15am (that is the earliest for the first nurse on a Monday which is the early day); so start could be 6:15 - 8am, Variable based on case mix for the week. End times are planned for 8 hour shifts, but if a case runs long, need flexibility to remain until close of case.


There are procedure rooms in the main floor endo unit for conscious sedation and procedures requiring anesthesia are done just upstairs above adjacent to the OR suites.

Position: Registered Nurse - Endoscopy (Nursing)
Shift: 5x8's, 40hrs/week
Location: Bennington, VT
Pay: $2578 - $2658/week (Case-to-case basis)
Duration: 13 weeks (Extensions possible)


Responsibilities


Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.
Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications.
Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements.
Collaborating with healthcare specialists and reporting changes and deteriorating conditions.
Explaining tests results and procedures to patients and their families, as well as answering questions.
Advising patients on post-hospital care, including prescribed medicine, home care protocols, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.


Requirements


VT or Compact RN license required
EPIC experience required
Minimum 2 yrs recent Endoscopy exp
BLS required
ACLS Preferred
