Tractor Trailer Driver (Class A)

The Kelly Companies are one of the largest privately owned printing companies on the East Coast and leader in printing, fulfillment, marketing, and convention industries. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and professional Class A Tractor Trailer Driver to join our multi-division operation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for local deliveries and some over the road driving. This position requires a Class A license designation, with a clean driving history, flexibility, and a willingness to support a customer driven operation. We offer an excellent benefits package.




DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:






  1. Drives truck primarily to destination in U.S. and some OTR USA & Canada trips, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in demanding situations.


  2. Verifies load against shipping papers.


  3. Performs daily vehicle inspection for defects before and after trips and report problems of vehicle's condition to Shipping Supervisor.


  4. Operates and maintains vehicle according to all U.S. DOT FMCSR regulations.


  5. Checks load for safe weight distribution and shifting in vehicle.


  6. Assist workers in loading and uploading trucks and other duties as specified by Shipping Supervisor.


  7. Lifting and transporting packages utilizing handcarts.


  8. Maintain electronic GPS and electronic driver tracking using cell phone apps logging travel and problems encountered during travel.


  9. May perform standard maintenance such as, adding fluids, changing light bulbs, and fuses


  10. Must observe all company safety rules and regulations.


  11. Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

    • Ability to read and write at a high school level.

    • Must be able to operate any assigned commercial Class A vehicle or below.

    • Must have Forklift Driver's License.

    • Stand, walk 20% of the time, sit approximately 80% of the time.

    • Must have knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

    • Must be able to bend, squat and lift a maximum of 70 lbs.
