Cardiopulmonary Director | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Description: The Cardiopulmonary Services Director is a dual role, combining administrative leadership with hands-on clinical responsibilities as a practicing Respiratory Therapist. This position is responsible for the strategic management and operational oversight of the cardiopulmonary department while actively engaging in direct patient care, conducting assessments, and delivering therapeutic interventions. The director will lead and mentor the respiratory therapy team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of best practices in cardiopulmonary medicine. Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a Respiratory therapist, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting required. Minimum two (2) years of progressive leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting preferably in a cardiopulmonary respiratory therapy department preferred. Demonstrated experience in managing departmental operation and staffing. Licensure and Certification: Current license in good standing to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Idaho. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is preferred. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required upon hire. Certification must also be maintained per policy.
