Position: Gastroenterology Physician |
Description: Facility in Rockport, ME seeking Outpatient GI locums coverage Rates: $450/hr This facility is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide locum tenens coverage for endoscopy procedures in the operating room and potentially one day per week in the clinic. The role primarily involves outpatient procedures with no weekend or call responsibilities. Schedule
- Days: Monday-Friday, 8-hour days with a 30-minute lunch break
- Frequency: Minimum of 2 weeks per month
- Procedures: Focus on scopes in the OR and potentially one clinic day per week
- Volume: 14-16 patients per day in the clinic
- Call: No call required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform lower GI endoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, and colonoscopies
- Conduct upper GI endoscopies, including biopsy, foreign body removal, varices banding, and diagnostic procedures
- Support staff includes full OR team with anesthesia provided by both a CRNA and an anesthesiologist
- Advanced procedures are preferred but not required
Requirements
- Board Certification: Gastroenterology (ABMS or AOA)
- Licensure: Active Maine license preferred; candidates needing licensing will be considered
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
- Vaccinations: COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required
