Description: Opening: Physician Specialty: Gastroenterology Position Type: Locum Tenens Facility: Outpatient Location: Illinois Start Date: May 2025 (90 days for full privileges) Contract Length: 6 months, ongoing Schedule: Monday - Friday 8a-5p Details: Opening for a Gastroenterologist at an Outpatient Clinic and GI procedure lab in Illinois. Outpatient Colonoscopy and EGD. GI Hospitalist will do inpatient procedures. ERCP and EUS skills would be great but not required Full time candidate preferred due to shortage of Ambulatory and Endoscopy coverage. Locums provider must be BC or BE in Gastroenterology, ACLS, BLS, and moderate sedation. Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8a-5p, 730a start for MAC blocks. OT pay available for patient care after 5pm No call requirements Clinic is closed on major holidays. Level 1 Trauma Center EMR is EPIC 100% Adult, Geriatrics, Mixed Payer Cases per Day: 40% Clinic w/ 30 minute consult intervals and 15-30 min returns. 60% GI procedure lab with length of scheduled procedure based on average of last 30 cases. Sedation is procedure sedation or MAC based on criteria Separate MAC blocks for patients that meet MAC criteria. Support Staff: 6 FT and 2 PT Ambulator APPs in clinic, RN and CMA/MA in clinic, RN and Surg tech in procedures.
