NP Radiation Oncology Opening in Beloit, WI - Located in Southern WI - 75 miles from Milwaukee and 100 miles from ChicagoPosition Details:


  • Seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team.

  • As a Radiation Oncology Nurse Practitioner, you will work closely with radiation oncologist and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing radiation therapy.

  • Conduct patient assessments, including medical history review and physical examinations, to determine eligibility and suitability for radiation therapy.

  • Collaborate with radiation oncologist to develop individualized treatment plans for patients, considering their medical condition, treatment goals, and potential side effects.

  • Administer radiation therapy treatments, including external beam radiation, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

  • Monitor patients during radiation therapy sessions, assess for adverse reactions or side effects, and provide appropriate interventions and support.

  • Educate patients and their families about the radiation therapy process, including treatment expectations, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as medical physicists, radiation therapists, and oncology nurses, to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.

  • Accurately and efficiently document patient information, treatment plans, and interventions in electronic medical records.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to radiation oncology nursing practice.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in radiation therapy techniques, equipment, and research, and apply evidence-based practice in patient care.

  • Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing or a Doctorate

  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.

  • Prior experience in oncology nursing, preferably in a radiation oncology setting.

  • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy principles, techniques, and safety protocols.

  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients and their families.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and other healthcare software.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning in radiation oncology.
