Position: Lead Teacher


Description:


About the Role:


As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for our young learners. You will be leading a team of teachers and assistants to create a positive and engaging learning experience for children. Your main goal is to ensure that each child receives the attention and care they need to develop their cognitive, social, and emotional skills.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare center or comparable setting

  • CPL III or Child Development Associate Certificate upon hire

  • Ability to pass BCI/FBI and ODJFS Background Check

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and parents



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field with 1+ years experience

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish



Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development

  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and aides

  • Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on their child's progress

  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment

  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and licensing requirements



Skills:


As a Lead Teacher, you will utilize your strong communication and organizational skills to create a positive and engaging learning environment for our young learners. You will also use your knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices to develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities. Additionally, your leadership and supervisory skills will be utilized to mentor and guide assistant teachers and aides. Finally, your ability to work collaboratively with a team will ensure that our program runs smoothly and effectively.
