Phlebotomist - Certified

Performs venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger s ticks to obtain bloodsamples for testing purposes. Properly identifies p atients and followsprocedures for collection of specimens. Ensures that all informationfrom the blood collection of specimens is entered into th e laboratorycomputer system including time drawn, time received, and pro perphlebotomy code. Collects chain of custody urine drug screens forpre- employment, post-accident, and just cause cases using propercollectionpr ocedures as set forth by NIDA. Picks up samples from nursing units asreq uired. Performs other related functions as assigned by the PhlebotomySup ervisor.

H.S. Diploma or GED required.

0-1 years Phlebotomy experience preferred.

CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Certi fication as aphlebotomist through a nationally recognized agency such as ASCP, ASPT,NCA or equivalent required.
